Technology = Life?

Technology is the new wave of the future. Technology is getting more advanced as we progress through life every year. Every person has to use technology, yes that includes Amish people. We could not live without it. It is life.
From Ipods, to lap tops, to cell phones, to cars, technology is what our lives are based around. There is no way to avoid the new wave of the future. Some people make a living trying to find new technology for the world. It seems like every year there is newer and more advanced types of technology.
My life, along with many other peoples, uses a lot of technology. I use my car for everything and to go everywhere. That is the biggest technological item used in my every day life, along with my cell phone. My phone is used to casually talk to my friends and to get a hold of my parents. If someone needs to get a hold of my they can always count on me having my phone. Most people have a computer with working Internet at their house, but me I don't (well anymore). Yes the Internet is needed a lot for my school work and entertainment, but I can deal without it for periods of times. I have a laptop that I use for listening to music, typing papers and uploading pictures. It may not have Internet access but I still use it everyday.
No matter hoe much a person thinks they can live without technology, they really can't. It is what we base out worlds around, it is what we use to get around and communicate. If a family does not use a phone, have a computer, or own a car, that is the least you could possibly live without technology. You still have the heat and electricity that keeps your house bright and warm. It may not be technologically advanced but it still is technology that was once found.
There is no life without technology. No matter if someone insists on not living with technology, they would practically not be living, period. Life uses technology and technology is life. There is no avoiding it and there is no way to live without it. You could be technologically advanced and have tons of high tech gadgets or you can just use it to get by and live. It is all up to you. I don't try and be all high tech and keep up on the new thing but I do use it every day. My car, my cell phone, my IPods and my laptop. There is no way I could live without those things.

A Million Dollars Is Pocket Change

27 13 8 94 7 3--- everyone listens to the numbers just hoping they have the matching ticket. The lottery is everyone’s dream to win. To think of actually get millions of dollars, like wow I wish I could win it. If I won it I would have so much I would want to do with it. Some would just got blow it all in a snap and some already have planned what they would want to do with it. For me there is a lot of things I want and some things I need; I would put lots of thought into what I would actually spend it on.
I know with a million dollars I would either buy one my dream cars [Nissan 350z or Nissan Xterra], I would by myself a nice small house so I could finally move out. Then from there I would be lost. I wouldn’t want to just keep it all to myself. Having 3 family members with cancer I would give them all some to help with there surgeries and recovering processes. I know I would donate some. I’m not sure exactly what I would want to donate it to, maybe a cancer fund, or to help put orphanages, I would do some research to find out exactly what I would give it to. I would also give some to all four my parents and four my grandparents.
From there it would all just be a big thought process. I would want to buy so much but I have be careful a limit myself. A million dollars is a lot of money and to just spend it all in a heartbeat on waste-less things is not good to me. I would treat myself a little and limit myself on a small shopping spree. I would take my three best friends with me- they have always been there for me, so why not treat them as well. I’d have a million dollars, why not share the joy.
With whatever I had left [hopefully is a lot] I would invest, why not put it away and let it build interest? It’s not a bad idea and it may not be what someone else has in mind to do with their million dollars but I would want to have a decent amount of money for awhile then say I had it for like a week and then be back to normal livings.
Sit back and think, what would you do if you had a million dollars? It’s a harder question to answer than one may think.

Skateboarding is not a crime

I sat and sit and contemplated what to argue; then skateboarding, what I passion a lot about, popped into my head. What exactly to argue? That was the next hard decision to make. Oh wait, I'm always accused of being a stoner and troublemaker, but that is not me at all.
When conveying my topic, skateboarding, every different way it could be conveyed is a different way to show what I am trying to prove.
If I decided to parte=ray it through a text message, I know I would use a lot of slang or talk how I normally do, rather than proper and without abbreviations. I would forward the message to all my skate buds. I would use "sk8" instead of "skate". I would maybe say something along the lines as, "Hey dudes we needa get this label trashed that we r all stoners and cause trouble. Lets so sk8 and prove these bitches wrong. C ya at the park. Late!" Really meaning, "Hey guys we need to get the label of us being stoners and troublemakers gone. Lets go skate and prove them wrong. See ya at the skate park. Later."
But if I was reading Transworld [a skate magazine] it would be so different. I would probably see a one page ad, with a highly known pro like Paul Rodriguez, Shaun White, Dustin Dollin, or Ryan Sheckler, skating some sick spot, decked out in brand labels, and saying something to help us rid what we are labeled as. It would be kind of contradictory because they would be skating a hand rail or pool. But it doesn't show them causing trouble, only doing what they live for, skating.
Blogging about this would be different than the text message or magazine cover too. It would be like a mini version of my paper. I would totally explain all the reasons we are labeled, all the reasons we are given these names, all the reasons why we are not all stoners and troublemakers and all the reasons why we are similar to other athletes. We do as they do in different form. The different medias have different effects on one topic. It flows with the people it is going to reflect on. If it's made for skaters it's going to be made for their taste. If it's made for parents, it's going to be more laid back. Every media, when made, has to think about where it's going to be shown, who is going to see it, and what the exact point is going to be made. It has so many factors to be thought about that it can't be made in a simple minute; it takes time and effort.

Argument Brainstorm

This blog is differnt than most. This is a brainstorm blog. Coming up with a topic to argue about is more difficult than one might think. I seem to argue a lot so I thought this would be a breeze; wow was I wrong. There are many topics that I could argue about. How cigarettes are not good for any one person, how pit bulls are not bad dogs but actually extremely nice, how all teenagers should have to take a sex ed class, how skaters are not to be labeled as stoners and troublemakers. There are more than imaginable arguments I can think of. Some may bring up a fuss with people and some might seem like a bore. But it’s an argument, there is no right or wrong to it.
It’s just not an easy topic to take one argument and only go one way with it for, say three to five, pages. No matter what you have to argue it’s pretty hard to go 110% with it one way. You may be for one certain thing but someone or something can make your mind think and make you want to head the other way with it. And then you have the fact that is it an argument that someone may actually want to read about it, is it something someone might have some interest in, is it something someone wants to counter argue; so many different questions to think about when picking one specific argument.
But the main reason you should pick the topic you want most, is because of the passion you have for this specific topic. You have to be very passionate for it, and have strong thoughts about it; if you just aren’t that into it your paper will not be that great.

Hallo-fricken-ween

Halloween, in my opinion, is by far the best holiday. Come on you get to dress up and be someone different, you get to go door to door saying "Trick-or-Treat" and get free candy, you get an excuse to party, and get to scare little kids.
Ever since I was little Halloween was a big holiday for my family. When most families decorate their houses for Christmas, my family decorate for Halloween. My dad has made a haunted house in the front yard, he plays pranks and scares all the teenagers. He has hung mannequins in the tree to make them look dead, he has hooked up a coffin to electronically make it up so my brother could pop out of it. My dad likes to go all out. When I was younger my dad drove a hurse for his car and he took me and all my friends out for trick-or-treating and let us all pile in and out of it.
Every year I dress up with cool costume I come up with and make. I have dressed up every year since I was 5 and have only bought 3 costumes EVER. When I was younger I was the Energizer Bunny one year, Timon (from The Lion King), Reggie Rocket (from the Nickelodeon show Rocket Power) and so many other crazy things. Last year, my best friend and I couldn't think of what to be and out of no where Thing 1 and Thing 2 (from The Cat In The Hat) popped in my head, and that's what we were.
This Halloween I was an army girl (that was one the 3 costumes I have ever bought). My friends and I had a crazy fun Halloween. We all went to Westminster to party hard. It was such a blast. I love hanging out with my friends and seeing every one's cool costumes. There was a pink Power Ranger, a Justin Timberlake, a cowboy, an Obama campaigner, a Snow White, and a group of guys made the Mario Cart characters (there was Peach, Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi). It was so much fun. Every seems to still get way into dressing up.
Because of the fun everyone seems to have, all the differnet things going on, and how much eeryone seems to get into it, Halloween has aways been my favorite hoiday. I will always go way out for Halloween no matter how old I get. It seems to being my family close; and I don't have to wait for Christmas to do that.
So people who don't like or celebrate Halloween, they should really give it a chance, it's a blast!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Music Is My Hot, Hot Sex

"Music Is My Hot, Hot Sex" by CSS, describes my relationship with music. Music is more than my life! Anything from hardcore, screamo, techno, rap, r&b, trance, country, alternative, rock, it is all amazingly fantasmic! Whether it's 3am or 3 in the afternoon there is always music around me. I have it in my car, on my ipods, on my phone, on my laptop, music videos on my TV, and it's always playing at my jobs.
I was introduced to music at a very young age. My dad played guitar and my mom always had it playing. I grew up on country and rock but as I grew older pop was introduced into my life. After that, it stuck with me and I was brought into more and more genres.
As I have grown up music as become me. When I was younger, I played the recorder, piano and xylophone (as most young children have). Once I got older I decided I wanted to try something new, so I picked up the guitar and drums. After a few years, I came to the conclusion that I am not musically inclined; just musically educated. Once middle school came along and after going to my first concert (Nsync), I decided concerts where my new thing. I started going to more and more. By the time I was a freshman in high school, I had already gone to about 35 concerts. Then a lot of my friends had started joining bands and making new ones, so concerts became a weekend routine for me. Between my friends' bands, local bands, and bigger popular bands I was hittin' up about three plus concerts every week. Going to all theses concerts I had seemed to meet and become really close with up-rising bands. Bands you may know of today, that have played big concerts such as The Vans Warped Tour, like 3OH!3, Single File, The Fray, Love 45, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Saving Verona, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Flobots, and many many more, were my close friends before they became so big.
Many bands decide to become big and make them very egotistical. I can remember bands saying they wish they would someday become something and that they play for the love they have. In today's society though, it's all about the money; no matter how much they say it's all about the love and passion.
Besides all this hoopla about the bands I know and them becoming something, and what not, music is my love, my life, my forever. No matter what I have done, am doing, or what I'm going to do music will always be my side. Music can never disappoint me. It can heal the heart and change any mood. When I'm down I listen to my music to bring my good moods back. People say chocolate makes the heart grow stronger, my chocolate is music.

Dreams are Worth Fighting For

Victor, from Dallas, Texas, wrote this is believe speech, Dreams are Worth Fighting For, for his belief in sports. It's a strong essay showing his path to his dream of playing physically active sports. He was born with Cerebral Palsy which made it so he was unable to physically play sports. Yes he tried to play the sports he very well desired to play, but he could not physically stay in the action.
But because of his strong desire to play sports he was able to keep his head high and continue to follow his dreams of being a physically athlete. He attempted soccer and running. He wanted to attempt football but knew that that could not happen. he wanted so badly to play a sport but there was not much he could do to change what he was diagnosed with.
His essay was a heart filled one. It hit me hard; just the fact that someone wanted something so bad that he would not give up. So one day, a teacher of is invited him to join the academic decathlon. He was hesitant at first but then decided to give it a shot. It became his "football practice". He practiced so much that it was his life. He won many medals and became very good at his sport.
This belief essay was really touching and shoudl make others stick to what they believe in. Going for your goals, fighht for what you believe in and who knows what can happen!
